Mark Norman - Restart
Updated: Wednesday 17th, September 2008
Overkill? Bikken Machine? Colours? All show a progression with those key elements that makes Mark Norman what they are. Aggregate this with driving techy synths along with a devastating melody that hits the crowd with force.
Striking the balance between something new and his signature sound, his latest offering certainly gets the wow factor. Quality rawness from a tech track is thin on the ground these days so its style will definitely be a welcome addition to the bag. Top it off with some clever compressing to get that bass absolutely ripping (and does it rip like hell) bass, prepare for these guys to 'Restart' and reset the standard on these saturated plains.
Standing on its own, a remix will take away its spontaneity which is really the essence of the whole thing, especially any rework of that beautiful pre-2002 Marco V style breakdown melody.
Electric! 4.5/5
Soon to be Magic Musik dust on the 29th September.
