Mark Burton- The Fifth Element
Newcomer MARK Burton makes a big entrance with his first appearance on Armada's long-living sub-label Soundpiercing. He is also the newest victim of Armada cover art name-spelling errors.
Original Mix:
With huge support from John O’Callaghan, Greg Downey & Simon Patterson... to say I was anticipating this tune would be an understatement. The song starts off with a typical but effective hard banging intro then as the song gradually builds it starts to branch of into different layers of sounds. Mark clearly uses a lot of FX samples to give the song a sort of signature appeal. During the climax the beautiful melody and euphoric pads come out in full force with the still prevalent main bass line hiding in the background. I really like that the way the song does not follow the main cliché of the genre and go all techie after the breakdown and still keeps a melodic feeling up until the end. This track does not reinvent the wheel, but it is a great debut for Mark who clearly has a big future ahead of him.
Conclusion:
A perfect tune for fans of uplifting and tech, this tune truly delivers it all!
4/5
