Leon Bolier album release party.
Updated: Wednesday 01st, October 2008

Friday the 26th of september was the day that Dutchie Leon Bolier would officially launch his debut album Pictures in the Dutch town Utrecht (famous for hosting Trance Energy). Ofcourse we had to be there so we set off to the club Poema to find out how the sounds of guys like Fine Taste, Joop, Leon himself, Sied van Riel and Orjan Nilsen would demolish our ears happy

We arrived at 0.15, just when Fine Taste finished the set. The atmosphere was nice and it was already quite busy on the dancefloor and around, while there was still a queue outside. This looked good! First thing we noticed was the huge bass that pounded through our chests, we hardly couldn’t breathe while Joop laid down some wicked tracks. Joop surprised with an excellent set with quite alot of energy. The usual faces (hello Twan!) and party people were around and there was lots of hand shaking and hi-how-are-you-doing conversation. The dancefloor was going crazy and the beers were delivered quickly. Lightning was ok and the low roof made it feel quite underground. The sets were broadcasted live on After Hours radio and we are pretty sure they are recorded and available at the usual places..

While Joop was finishing his excellent set, it was time for the main man this evening, Leon Bolier. He played a lot of album tracks that did great with the audience. Some amazing tracks were played and also some older tracks were neatlessly mixed in by Leon. My personal highlight was Oliver Prime’s interpretation of LSG – Netherworld, which still rocks my socks.

At this time the beers seriously affected my objective view on the party and I just can say that I had a wonderfull time during the finish of Leon’s tracks and the great takeover by Sied van Riel. I also thought I heard a part of Orjan Nilsen, but I am not completely sure happy Also my company had been dancing all night long and agreed it was a massive party. The atmosphere was great, met some nice people and had great fun altogether. This pretty much proves my feeling that the intimacy of a club can easily defeat any big festival out there with the right audience and the right DJ’s. If you gonna see Leon soon, ur up for a blast.
