Digitally Enhanced Volume One: Mixed by Will Holland!

Enhanced Recordings are proud to present their debut compilation; ‘Enhanced Recordings: Digitally Enhanced Volume One, Mixed by Will Holland.’ Read on!

Little over one year since the label’s creation, Enhanced Recordings are proud to present their debut compilation; Enhanced Recordings: Digitally Enhanced Volume One, mixed by Will Holland.

The milestone follows a storming succession of releases from the UK’s hottest new label that has spawned no fewer than three sub labels; Enhanced Progressive, Enhanced Limited and Enhanced Digital. The releases have been heavily supported by all the top DJ’s including Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Above & Beyond, Paul van Dyk and so on, as well as numerous ‘Tune of the …’ accolades and glowing media support.

The debut compilation, mixed by label owner and Gatecrasher man Will Holland, is set across two CD’s, and features 100% Enhanced material; showcasing the deeper, groovy progressive outings on CD one and the more full on, melodic sounds of Enhanced on CD two, supplying all the big favourites from the labels and a huge amount of exclusives, some of which wont see the light of day till 2007.

‘We initially thought about licensing material from other labels, but when we came to look at the project in more detail, we realised we had so much quality from our own releases that we had the chance to do something a little bit different, and really push the forthcoming releases, whilst showcasing the big hits off the labels’ says label manager Will Holland.

Will Holland has steadily established himself over the past few years, with regular roof raising appearances at Superclubs such as Gatecrasher, Passion, Slinky, Wildchild, Goodgreef and more, and high profile international dates such as Space and Eden in Ibiza, and United in Trance in Holland. Will also presents a string of successful radio shows on DI.FM, ETN.FM, Trance Mixers and Paul van Dyk’s Voync radio station, as well as regular guest mixes for the likes of Above and Beyond’s Trance Around the World show and the UK’s biggest dance station Galaxy FM that have gathered him an army of international fans. Added to this a successful production output, which has seen him release on the likes of Bonzai and Platipus and of course Enhanced, notably with one of the tracks of 2005 ‘Timeless’, he has subsequently been tipped by the UK’s leading dance music publication Mixmag as ‘One to Watch’ and has gained ‘Future Hero’ status. This saw Will short listed at the Tranceawards for ‘Best Future Hero’ this year. Will has also been responsible for fronting the promotions and holding a residency for the world’s most influential club Gatecrasher, which has seen him run consistent sell out events featuring the cream of the worlds DJ’ing talent, including Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Above & Beyond, Judge Jules, Erick Morillo and Roger Sanchez. With a top label to boot- at just 24 years old, Will is regarded as one of the biggest young talents around.

‘I started the label after doing the A&R for Monster Tunes’ states Will Holland, ‘Myself and Brisky were having some good successes, and I was getting sent a lot of unreleased material for my DJ sets, and I wanted an imprint where I could specifically put the music I really love and would play in my sets, so I launched Enhanced. After a short time we launched Enhanced Progressive to cater for that sound, and then Enhanced Limited and Enhanced Digital to house the large amount of releases we had, and the demand from the public! After not so long we had Tiësto asking us for our material upfront- that’s when you know you must be doing something right!’

Enhanced displays a forward thinking approach across its catalogue, mixing the biggest names in the scene today such as Markus Schulz, Binary Finary, Alex M.O.R.P.H and Jan Johnston, alongside a depth of young talent.

‘We have nurtured some really strong young artists, its crazy to think that some of these guys are barely 18 years old, and it really shows how much the digital age of production has been made accessible to anyone with a PC and internet connection! We intend to build these artists into tomorrow’s stars, which is another reason why we wanted to include as much Enhanced material as possible.’

The compilation holds 28 tracks across the two CD’s, with Enhanced favourites such as the Markus Schulz vs Elevation remix of Severance, Nautical Imagery, John O‘Callaghan’s Remix of Amnesia, Apollonia, Menno de Jong’s mix of Spiral Story, Bakke & Ljungqvist’s ‘Bali,’ Will Holland’s Timeless and no fewer than 17 very hot exclusive new signings!

‘Over the two CD’s I have tried to create two completely different moods, one, showing the groovy, melodic sounds of Enhanced Progressive that work a dancefloor well at the start of the night, but that also sounds nice just to chill too. On the second CD you can hear the more full on, peak time sound of Enhanced. I’m really proud when I sit back and listen to the music we have amassed and the sound we have created across the labels.’

Already heralded by Mixmag as their ‘Compilation of the Month’ for October, this looks like another success for this label and artist.

Digitally Enhanced Volume One is out at the end of October on Enhanced and will be available from all good record stores. To reserve your upfront, signed copy go to http://www.cdjshop.com
