The Gallery Welcomes Umek & Mauro Picotto - 5 February
Updated: Thursday 10th, June 2010

After many massive trance nights, the Gallery is proud to present techno legends Mauro Picotto and Umek. Click for more info.

The first Gallery outing for February brings something a little on the techno side of life. After several hugely successful visits last year The Gallery are delighted to be welcoming back the Italian tech maestro Mauro Picotto and Slovenian producer-DJ Umek, one of the biggest names around - his brand of techno has always blown the roof off The Gallery!

Uroš Umek is internationally acclaimed for seducing the masses with his own music blend for more than a decade. Always on the look for new sounds and determined to challenge every existing cliché in the music industry, he managed to define his own vision of vanguard techno. Sure, this would not happen without the support of his loyal peers who’ve joined him on the production platforms such as Recycled Loops, Consumer Recreation and Astrodisco, with which they defined the “Slovenian techno sound” and successfully invested it as an important driving force on the global club scene. Last year's releases like Is it / Longer Trail, Destructible Environment, S Cream, Designed Persona, You Might Hear Nothing and the latest club hit Work This Data, have caught the attention of Armada, Hell Yeah, Tronic, Dataworx and other massive labels. Judging by his 2010 plans it looks like Umek isn’t going to run out of creative fuel for quite some time!

Mauro Picotto returns to The Gallery after another massive night on his previous visit. The Italian purveyor of techno has had another huge summer with his Meganite brand doing the business each and every Wednesday at the enormous Privilege club. With another Meganite compilation out and a stream of tech infused tunes Mauro continues to tour the world over and has brought his Meganite brand to a whole heap of festivals. Always one to deliver some of the best music we witness at The Gallery, we implore you to check out one of dance music’s most legendary producers on one of his rare visits to these shores.

The Box is rounded off with Gallery residents Gavyn Mytchel and The Viceroy who will be finishing the night off in style. Meanwhile The Bar welcomes Godskitchen resident Paul Thomas who has been creating some mega waves of late with a steady stream of massive productions alongside Marc Vedo and Gallery favourite Graeme Lloyd.
