And ja, I know house is big in Sweden atm... went to a disco in Stureplan last september, and it was all minimal and tech house. SO yeah, Mega house zone.

A lot of those minimal and tech house tracks are more deeper and trancier then some of the newer trance-productions. happy

Trance isn't really a regular club type of music anyway, you know?

It worked well in the '90s.... When trance was dark, groovy and banging. At least here in Belgium (and Germany).

Exactly my point, trance barely has any human quality in it anymore, it is purely electronic, and it sounds alien to me.

You know you're right...Berghain techno is more entrancing than the majority of trance today...LOL. Quite ironic to me...

Oh Really?

It depends man! Depends on what kind of Trance it is and about your talk about the breakdown, check in this club!!!

Youtube link

0:25-part is even better than any soccer-crowd! And in my life, I've never seen this kind of atmosphere even at the house-clubs!

I see that people are REALLY ENJOYING! Even during the most calm part from 2:06. No need for stupid talking MC:s during the breakdown, people themselves participate with the music already!!! People are NOT standing there and don't know what to do during that part, they really enjoy that part so I don't agree with you man!

And if you want some really nice trance to dance to, try the old classic Trance from the late 90's from Germany! If you cannot dance to that, I'll give you 100 Euros!

Hahaha! I'm not riffing on trance by any means... I've got everything from The Age of Love, right through to Andy Blueman's latest release, and have stuff in (more or less) every genre of trance. And in some ways the older styles were deeper and more exciting. But in many ways, more recent styles of trance have a more dramatic, epic quality to them that I ALSO really like.

And I hear ya on really recent (trendy) trance productions becoming... well, less organic, and losing the trancey magic. I occasionally try listening to ASOT, or TATW, and 7 times out of 10, they put me to sleep. :/

Personally, I've been working on cultivating a sound in my own productions that's a mix between the epic anthem sounds of 2002-2007 era trance, with the deep organic basslines of psytrance (like Cosma-style basslines), to try and create something new... debut album came out just last month, too!

Fly Toward The Sun - Dawnchaser

However, that is by no means what my sound is always gonna sound like (in case any of you actually went to check it out). I'm always changing and evolving my sound, to try and keep improving.
As we speak, I'm working on a couple new tunes... heavy on the psy influences, light on techy influences, and heavier on a darker epic trance sound... all I need to finish them is some EQing to clean things up a bit, and gonna find some Native American vocal samples to use in one track... and This Is Cascade Style! EP will be done.

Maybe folks will like the Cascade Style subgenre I'm slowly developing way out West here... and maybe they won't. But it's not about making money and being trendy and cool... it's about making the best music I can, and making it possible for other people to enjoy it too.

Man, we've all drifted off the original topic quite a ways, haven't we?

P.S. Komodo ftw! Old Mauro tunes, especially the Megavoices remixes, were GODLIKE. heart Techno Harmony (Megavoices Dub) - Mario Piu

I hope no! I would like to see only commercial house producers ala Guetta.

Is time for trance to go underground.

So where did they say that it would be a pure trance event? As far as I know they said that there would be trance still, but not that it would JUST be trance.
