I just got my Virus Ti2 Polar yesterday, I love it, but I really want to hear some its potential. What would be the best patches (in your opinion) to start with?

Funny thing about that synth... It has these weird knobs and parameters.
When u tweak them, they tend to change the sound... u have, the BEST fucking synth around, with the possibility of a VST like program... tweak ur sounds!!! I started with the JP-8080, Virus B and such, tweaking is FUN!!! plus, u might even be able to make ur OWN signature sound wink

Well, I'm fairly new to actual synthesis. I've had sylenth1 for awhile now, but I never got into programming my own sounds. I still need to figure out how to even save patches once I create them.

Cut me some slack, I JUST got this thing, and I've never played on one before.

May I ask why you bought it? I mean, it's expensive. Could easily give you quite a few very nice plugins instead.

Jezper, you recommended I use Omnisphere, and while that might be a more affordable option, I'm more interested in hands on experience. Besides, I got a great deal on this Ti2 because it was marked with the price of a used Ti, so I can resell it for more than what I paid.

So you buy an amazing hardware synth (because you like the hands-on approach) yet you don't know how to use it and want to fill it up with vengeance patches?

Sorry, that's just WRONG!

Come on. Hand it over. It's not a toy puh

I don't know what you all are up on, but listen to yourselves. Go ahead and make the assumption that I'm some noob producer with a ton of cash that doesn't know anything. I'm in the process of LEARNING synthesis, so I bought of the BEST synth around.

I'll just take all this for jealousy. eureka! idea grin

Considering that this is Virus TI you most likely bought it because you've read on forums that it's teh best synth evar for producing BIG massive trance tunes and can just churn out massive speaker-smashing supersaws at a single push of a key.
And then you've learned that factory presets suck in 95% of cases.

Simply put - you've bought a very expensive synth which people usually do when they are serious about it and yet you ask someone else to make it sing - meaning that TI2 just goes to waste - of course you will get mocked.

Okay, point taken. I guess I approached this the wrong way. It was a big purchase, and thats exactly why I want to hear the first-hand potential of this thing so that I decide to keep it instead of flipping it on eBay for a profit.

You can't really go wrong with Incubation V2 or V3. Lots of great starting points in those soundsets. Though you get 128 Manuel Schleiss sounds in the TI factory soundset, don't you? They should be a good enough starting point, I'd think.

Why shouldn't you have the freedom to ask for a good Virus TI 2 presetbank made by someone who REALLY knows the synth, without having people acting like they where the moral guardians of synths mocking the shit out you???

I know the topic-title was a little lame, but ffs people!!!

Cheers cheers
