You know, the kind of pure american culture you can see now only on movies and on rare occasions in real life. Rock and country music, bars with Marlboro men and white trash chicks inside, muscle cars...
Now the hispanic and black people brought rap music, raggaeton or whatever thats called and huge white basketball t-shirts. And europeans brought culture and a different lifestyle. Its not the same. I wish I was born in the 60's

I only read the first post, but try living in London now, especially East and South London. We have mosques fucking every where, most of the old culture here is gone and we have all the exotic types being brought in. Love the last old style culture you have, before it's gone.

That's incorrect. It's usually higher education which naturally causes people or a culture to feel a sense of moral obligation to place greater emphasis on other cultures while neglecting their own roots -- as we see with western civilization around the world. It has nothing to do with being weaker, it has to do with the ideology. For instance, china feels no burden to increase ethnic diversity in their own country by letting in blacks or whites or people of different religions.

There's no such thing as "classic American culture"...American culture is essentially pop culture, it's constantly changing and developing. It's been such a different mix of things from the beginning that you can't really pinpoint one specific era and say that's "classic American culture", because what was happening in the US was pretty much happening everywhere else too, even if it started in the US, very few Americans actually claim ownership of things like most countries do.

It's not an issue about being correct or not. I did make a ':P' reference, but honestly I don┤t consider the US having any true culture. Anything it will have will have been brought from the refugees living there.

^^^ Despite my previous post, I should enter here that once in Germany I was talking to a kid wearing a New York Yankees hat, a Metallica t-shirt, and riding a skateboard who told me the same thing, that Americans "have no culture" lol Like I said, it's more that we have "pop culture"...if we kept it to ourselves it would be more "ours", but we export everything so there really isn't anything left just for us.

Along with globalization and homogenization also comes a push towards diversification among different regions of the world; the search for identities that can be promoted as unique for specific localities, setting them apart from one another and allowing them so survive as communities in a global forum

you wish you could prevent cultural expansion.. so go join the kkk

What cultural expansion are you talking about?

social diversity? is that not expansion?

Isn't he expressing grief over what he thinks is a cultural REDUCTION? And what the hell does the kkk have to do with it?

Agreed, I think its called "Post-Modern Deconstructionism" seriously, just learned alot about it in my studies as a fine-arts student. And those kkk posts are because ppl have to be discriminating, see thats what their cultural expansion does, it makes haters.

What's the difference between America and a tub of yoghurt?

Leave the yoghurt in the sun for 300 years and it'll develop some culture.
