So I need to get a mix on a cd so I can hand it to a couple of clubs. How long should I be in the mix for?

Try not to do anything longer than one hour. Owners don't usually listen to sets of 2 hours lenght.

Good luck cheers

Okay perfect, an hour demo was what I anticipated. Thanks.

Yeah. There's a reason almost all monthly / promo / podcasts are 1 hour long wink

12 hours, just to prove that you can do marathon sets. Much more likely to land yourself a gig that way. Nobody wants people that can only do 1 hour sets.

i dont like it either, thats why i buy the unmixed versions, but, if he actually does mix it on cdjs and not on ableton, he has my respect for being nr 1 dj

Since when is mixing in Ableton considered 'bad' or 'wrong'?

well its not that its wrong, its just u have all the time in the world to sequence the mix and apply effects accordingly, thats why it would be more impressive on cdjs where he has to quickly mix in the alotted time he wants to get it down
