I'll give two thumbs up for ReDrum. For awhile I was using Reason with Live via Rewire just so I could use ReDrum.

I found the Reason sequencer to be fairly complicated in the earlier versions. That was really what ultimately drove me give up on it. Well, that and the inability to import audio. I know both of these issues have long since been addressed.

I've definitely heard some nice music being made with Reason though lately!

I started on Reason.

I moved away just as reason 4 came out.

The best bit for me was the Thor. Powerful synth indeed.

Plus Reason's sound engine has something about it that colours the audio render, which I don't like.

hmm i use reason rewired to nuendo so that nuendo works as the sequencer.
that way i can also use other instruments and mastering plugs that i find better than reasons.

im not going for v5 since it has nothing im interested in so....

another very goodie about reason is that it never crashes and it uses very little cpu meaning you can just about add as much shijt as u like and not even getting close to maxing out the processor (i have a p6600 quad)

I changed to reason v1.0 some months after it was released, year 2000 or so. I am originally from the tracker scene and used Fast Tracker 2. I have used reason regulary since then and I still love the program. I have played with other programs as well when making music together with other people. I have tried Cubase, Logic and Pro but never really liked the workway in those programs. I like the way reason is made. You can get almost any sound you want by pulling the cables on the back and I love to experiment with that and find new sounds. I will probably not change to another program any time soon.
