So lately I've noticed that the sound of the so called golden age of disco is starting to show itself once more. Take for example some of Jody Wisternhoff's latest sets etc. I might be totally off course here, since I've mostly been listening to everything else than the forementioned sound, but this new blend of music is starting to grow on me grin

This one was sent to me by Jansa and perfectly illustrates the sound that I'm speaking of:

Anything else I should have a listen to ?

That particular track was featured on disc 2 of Balance 014.

- Aeroplane
- Greg Wilson
- Todd Terje
...

would be some DJ's to check out.

I've heard this in a Jody Wisternoff set recently. Never thought about this track being a reincarnation of the the disco genre. Actually I don't really have a clue about disco, so maybe it hasn't anything to do with it. At least not to an extent as the example you posted. I just know that I like both tracks mentioned here although I've never been a fan of disco music.

Maybe it is not just disco but the whole late 70s and early 80s sound which has a little renaissance nowadays.

Think this is called space disco, which I quite like.

I really like indierave or whatever they call it, not as "disco" as some of the stuff here. We have a very small club in my city who book artists such as these and electropop acts here. Saw "Adrian Lux" the other day, brilliant and fun stuff on a friday evening! The Fake Blood Remix of Miike Snow - Animal is frequently played there too.

Can't blame Disco for coming back a little bit though, after all it's the basis for all forms of EDM, at times like this when everybody hates everything it's only natural some producers will go back to the absolute roots.

Electro/Nu-Disco is getting bigger with many artists imo. Don't know how much bigger it will get but the sound seems to be spreading to some pop artists like Robyn and Kylie Minogue.

And of course there are many lesser known, yet still great artists like Russ Chimes, Diamond Cut, Fear of Tigers, Grum, Ali Love, Sally Shapiro, Lifelike, etc.

Wow, I've never realised that there's something like a Nu-Disco genre. But that's some really nice stuff. Especially Ali Love - Love in Darkness cool

And then again, as I read Robyn, how could I forget about Kleerup? Maybe because his debut album was already released two years ago (and re-released one year ago).

I really like that album for sounding so much like Giorgio Moroder and Blondie:

Yeah, I really love the genre. happy It's become one of my favorite types of music.

I really like that Kleerup/Linda Sundblad song. It's one of the best ones on his album imo.
