In this day and age if you want to be an international DJ with any real staying power it seems you really need to be producing your own music or at least be working with other producers on mixes to have releases with your name on it.

Do you want to be an international DJ because you like the romanticized rock star jet setting DJay lifestyle or respect, or are you truly interested in sharing your musical ideas and passions with the world?

If it's that latter wouldn't you should definitely explore the idea of starting both DJing and Producing your own music at the same time. More times than not they go hand in hand. If however you really gravitate towards just DJing then go for it and cultivate the ability to play the best (most fitting and appreciated) next record every time.

Best of luck.

you have a LONG LONG way to go. LONG way.
start by making sure you can mix properly
start by making productions that get signed and make trancefloors go crazy and only then would you be considered for a couple of low key gigs.
