Ok, I decided to make a topic for the people who still buy / collect / love music. Or just people who are interested in vinyl.

How vinyl records are made:
2 great YouTube movies that explain the production process of a vinyl!

The worlds biggest record store:
I found 2 movies from which must be the worlds biggest record store for sure!
"The Thing" in Brooklyn, NYC, USA

I would love to have a look overthere! puh

The world's biggest record collection (2.5 million vinyls!)
Paul Mawhinney was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. Over the years he has amassed what has become the world's largest record collection. Due to health issues and a struggling record industry Paul is being forced to sell his collection.

To Have & To Hold Trailer
With an influx of digital solutions in the realm of DJing and music, the increasingly obsolete medium of vinyl is fully tributed in the upcoming “musicmentary” To Have & To Hold. With a previous generation of music fans still embracing vinyl, the documentary focuses on its meaning, its graphical element and interviews with various hardcore collectors including Bobbito Garcia, Chuck D, Questlove, Danny Krivit, Bruce ‘Bluenote’ Ludvall and others.

The future of Record Industry (Dutch vinyl pressing company):
With 32 presses Record Industry is the largest vinyl pressing plant in Europe. They have a production capacity of 30.000 records per day, which can be raised if necessary.

This video was shown on a Dutch website and they talk with the owner (Ton Vermeulen) about the future of Record Industry.

Record collections from famous DJ's:
I think I've posted this part before, but I thought some people would like this. The pics were posted in a German magazine a while ago and they show the record collections from some German DJ's such as Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, DJ Hell, Tiefschwarz and Ricardo Villalobos. Click on the names to see their DJ room / collection!

[updated with more DJ's!]

Ali Schwarz (Tiefschwarz)
André Galluzzi
Ata
Steve Bug + Frank Wiedemann (Âme)
Dixon
DJ Koze
DJ T
Dominik Eulberg
Ellen Allien
DJ Hell
Justus Köhncke
Lawrence
Michael Reinboth
Mathias Modica (Munk)
Hans Nieswandt + Tobi Neumann
Richie Hawtin
Gabor Schablitzki (Wighnomy Brothers)
Sven Väth
Ricardo Villalobos

I tried to find some pics from the collections from Carl Cox and Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim), since according to what I've heard they seem to have HUGE collections!

And ... my own collection: http://www.discogs.com/user/dancemania
Not just vinyls though! happy

It's interesting how 'minimal' the style of some of those rooms are!

If anybody can find the pictures of Armand Van Helden's vinyl collection it's amazing. I just googled it but only got a bunch of places selling his records lol I wish I could remember what site had that interview that showed a picture of his collection, it's insane.
