The techniques can be adapted to pretty much any DAW on any os. In case you wan't step by step on how to create a complete track, then check out http://www.sonicacademy.com and look in the Videos-page.

Personally, i would recommend the Sonic Academy tutorials.

Alot of people tend to slag them off and say that they don't teach you anything that you can't get elsewhere on the internet for free, but i am inclined to disagree.

The Sonic Academy videos i have seen tend to be alot longer and go into more detail then any free videos i have come across.

Also, the tutors on Sonic Academy are very respectable producers in their genre.

My attitude is that for the £50 a year subscription, you will at least learn something useful, so it is money well spent - i think you can't put a price on knowledge and all that! David.

I created my first video tutorial yesterday - maybe it can be of use for someone. I've been asked many times how I achieved my sound and I use a lot of layers and this hopefully demonstrates that happy

I wonder why "in the studio with" still isn't shared here.
Youtube it and you will find dozens of videos from FutureMusic where they film producers in their studio, creating a track or remix from scratch. The producers gives you alot of tips regarding everything from basslines to effects. Some of them also learn a trick or two in different VST's.

Producers like Steve Angello, Ian Carey, Freemasons, Benny Benassi, Deadmau5 (live show tutorial) and D.Ramirez are featured in 2hour~ videos.
