Just wanted to update this thread with Cubase sidechaining, as it is missing in here.

Sidechain in Cubase SX3 with a silent trigger.

Define a new Quadro Group
- Project -> Add channel -> Group Channel -> Select Quadro Channel -> OK
Create Subbusses
- Now press F4 (vst instruments) -> Groups/Effects -> Rightclick on the Group (most likely to be named "group1".) -> Create 2 subbusses.
(One "Stereo" and one "Stereo (Rs Ls)").
Insert the compressor
Click F3 (mixer) -> Group channel -> insert -> Your sidechain compressor.
Select Trigger (For example your kickdrum.)
Select the kickdrum-channel -> sends -> Stereo(Rs Ls) -> activate it -> activate the "pre-fader" button (next to the activation button). This is nessecary to retain control over the volume of the kick. Now put down the slider of the volume of the kickchannel (on the left). You will need a new channel for the actual kicks obviously!
Sidechain!
Audio-channel: select the audio channel and change to output to: Stereo.
Midi-channel: select the instrument channel (which is not the same channel as the one with your pianoroll, its kinda near the bottom of your screen. Select that channel and change the output to Stereo.

Now what I just posted it all pretty standard sidechaining. Kick/Bass etc.

Does anyone know how I can sidechain the reverb plugin on a midi channel with the midi notes itself? Like in Leon Bolier-YE(Airbase Remix) or Rank1-Beats At Rank1.com.
