Why should i give you my money?
Since Trance.nu emerged in 1999, it has played home to thousands of devoted trance fans and opened the opportunity for like-minded people to get, and stay, in touch. With news, reviews, forums, community features, interviews, artist diaries, articles and hosted raido shows, Trance.nu has become one of the world's most popular website's dedicated to trance music. Over the past few years, the hobby project has run on volunteer work but soon snowballed into a story with total costs exceeding the 3000$ mark.
As things are going Trance.nu's way, with more recognition from the scene, the load on our servers is becoming heavier and heavier. And as the traffic increases, one by one the bills are emptying our pockets. We regret that we've now come a point where the owners no longer can hold the economic load from the project. That's why we now turn to you to help us keep Trance.nu going, day to day. Your donation will help Trance.nu stay alive...
How does this work?
We use PayPal for our donations, which is the most secure money transfer system on the net. Hundreds of thousands payments flow trough PayPal each day, so it's 100% safe. You'll need either a PayPal account or a Visa, Master, Discover or Amex - card. All donations with 5$ or more will be rewarded with a special "donation"-star for 3 months, as a small token of our appreciation. This star will be visible on your mypage and in the forums, note that this only applies for Member donations.
There are two ways to donate, either as a member or a non-member, we'll walk trough both scenarios in this tutorial.
Donate as a member
Make sure you're logged on to trance.nu and click start. On step 1, click "I'm a member". Next step will provide you with a verification-code, make sure to copy this. You'll have to include that code while paying trough PayPal. It's our way to verify the payment. After copying the code, select if you'd like to be included on a donators-list. It's a list of all users that placed a donation, it will show the donation amount as well. Now click "proceed". A new window will open with the PayPal system. Follow the given instructions. When payment is completed, allow a couple of days to pass since the payment has to be validated manually. When we verify your payment you will receive a donator-status (if donation was 5$ or above).
Donate as a non-member
This is mainly if labels etc would like to donate to us. Click "Start". Next step will provide you with a verification-code, make sure to copy this. You'll have to include that code while paying trough PayPal . It's our way to verify the payment. After copying the code, select if you'd like to be included on a donators-list. It's a list of all users that placed a donation, it will show the donation amount as well. Make sure to fill the information form, so we know who placed the donation. Now click "proceed". A new window will open with the PayPal system. Follow the given instructions. When payment is completed, allow a couple of days to pass since the payment has to be validated manually.
